Job description

A production manager will plan, organize and control production and ensures that goods and services are produced efficiently, on time, within budget and to a predetermined standard.

Main Job Tasks and Activities

• plan a production schedule for the job
• implementation and control of the production schedule
• making sure that products are produced on time, with good quality and within budget
• working out the human and material resources needed
• drafting a timescale for the job
• estimating costs and setting the quality standards
• monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed
• being responsible for the selection, optimal usage and maintenance of equipment
• monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control program across the board
• liaising among different departments, e.g. suppliers, managers
• working with managers to implement the company's policies and goals
• supervising and motivating a team of workers
• reviewing the performance of subordinates
• identifying training needs.
A production manager is involved in both the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage. A large part of production management involves dealing with people, particularly those who work in your team.

Required skills

1. Bachelor’s degree in specific field - technology or chemistry.
2. Relevant experience in production at the same position.
3. Management, planning and leadership skills.
4. Knowledge of quality systems and standards.
5. Knowledge of raw materials.
6. Knowledge of process improvement techniques and business, finance and management principles.
7. Knowledge of engineering and technology principles and practices, as well as machines and tools
6. English, computer: very good.
7. Proven track record in managing production.
8. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget.
9. Strong interpersonal skills; a team player and independent worker.
